It's Good Friday! Two more days and it will be ever chocoholic's dream day, Easter Sunday.
I wanted to do a blog on a Chocolatiers, and I found one in Salisbury who allowed me a little time today to tantalise you with their collection of cocoa treats. Based just a few 100 yards from the Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury Chocolate Bar and Patisserie will great you with yummy smells of chocolate and warm welcoming smiles from their staff.
I must warn you, if you are tempted to pop in after seeing these images, they are only open Saturday. Easter Sunday they will be closed.
This is one seriously HUGE piece of chocolate, the other half of the egg is under the table - pretty amazing stuff.
A bird of more manageable size, these little ducks looked almost too good to eat. But if you could resist you would be tempted my the spring flowers, the nests or the bunnies
Go on, take a closer look
These are all wrapped up and ready to go. I was totally enthralled with the tiny Hot Cross Bunds made out of marzipan, totally gorgeous
On the counter was this amazing bowl of tiny chocolate eggs. Good job I don't work there, far too many temptations, this bowl would have been empty by the end of the day!
Eggs, bunnies, eggs, chicks, oh and some eggs. Everything you could want for Easter, catering to all tastes
The room has a scattering of eggs just about everywhere, including hanging from the ceiling!
These three boxes are full of Easter Goodies, ready and waiting for the customer to take home and surprise three very lucky recipients. Salisbury Chocolate Bar & Patisserie are happy to make up orders for their discerning clients, adding the little touches, like the tiny eggs that tie the labels to the boxes.
These attentions to detail all adds to the service you would expect from this shop, nothing is too much effort; such as the fact that they let me in before the shop opened to the public so I could do my shoot (which I thank them gratefully), and in the process had numerous customers "nip in" just for a couple of bits, but rather than locking the door, the customers got served.
People were queuing up to get in as I left, it's obviously a popular place to go for chocolate treats. The excitement of Easter apparent by the faces pressed up against the windows.
You may have noticed that there aren't many staff members in my images, I can promise you that they were there. and to prove it, a fleeting glimpse of the owner
I would like to give my thanks to everyone this morning in helping me with creating some of these shots, and also for their patience while I pottered about.
I would like to wish everyone a very very Happy Easter. I hope the Easter Bunny leaves you something nice, and if you're very lucky it will have come from The Salisbury Chocolate Bar & Patisserie
You can find out more about this wonderful shop (and even order online) here And if you pop in to see them, please tell them I said hello :)
