Looking forward to 2015

Autumn Sunset in Tilshead, WiltshireTaken in late autumn, this is a panoramic joiner landscape of the sunset in Tilshead, Wiltshire in 2014.

Part two

2014 has been a year for me to explore Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset and the surrounding areas. When I'm not busy photographing commercial images, weddings and family portraits I can be found working on my personal work; these have come from days out with other artists, friends and family. Often the sunsets, sunrises and rainbow images were taken in my village (Tilshead) here in the middle of the Salisbury Plains. In fact, when you drive into the village, there's a welcome post saying "Welcome to Tilshead, the heart of the Salisbury Plains" it's so true.

It's a privilege to wake up to stunning scenes day in and day out; even when it's grey and raining, it's truly beautiful here. I hope these images capture your heart like Wiltshire has captured mine.

Many of the images in my personal work are available to buy, you can always contact me is there's something here that inspires you and you'd like to buy as a fine art print.

Competition Images

In 2014 I entered several images into a monthly competition with The Guild of Photographers. There's 100's of entries from photographers all over the UK every single month. Images are scored out of 100 with the minimum industry standard scoring 70 points, or a Bar. Above that are Bronze, Silver and Gold. There is a Platinum but no one has ever won one of these yet, but I'm working on it.

I'm in the process of updating my profile on The Guilds brand new website, but you can find it here

And if you haven't seen part one of this review of 2014 please take a look. It's full of portraits, weddings and commercial inspired images.

What is planned for the future?

It's been wonderful looking back on 2014, but I'm already planning for 2015.

I'm focusing hard on commercial photography this year. It's important to me to keep my skills fine tuned and focused (no pun intended). Commercial work is different, from still life to portraits, action shots to creative lighting, there's always exciting things to photograph. I want to leave businesses with beautiful images that truly represent their business.

Family work is always important to me; I always want to deliver the best images presented in beautiful products for every family I photograph, something that really shows them together.

Photography training is something that I really love doing, and last year I did more 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 training days than every before; each one was different and really heart warming. Training people allows me to pass on my skills and hopefully inspire another photographer to go on to take better pictures.

"What about weddings?" I hear you ask... it is always an honour to be asked to be part of someones special day. I've had four enquiries already since Christmas, but with only doing a few each year I won't be increasing my intake of weddings. They are intense and amazing days to be part of and I'd never want to deliver anything but my absolute best for my couples.
I always hope for something special or unique, and this year I'm wondering if I'll finally get a handfasting ceremony - living this close to Stonehenge, it's got to happen one day.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey through 2014. To my family and friends, thank you for your patience and for putting up with me talking about photography at any given moment, you're all amazing and you all make it possible for me to do what I love.

Finally to my clients, many of whom have become friends, you've allowed me to create some of my best images yet, you're all amazing, thank you x
