I've blogged about two cream tea visits recently, but cream teas aren't the only reason that Selena and I head out every month or so. As artists we are constantly looking for inspiration. We try to include a visit to somewhere that is showing some art or exhibition; a little culture to keep us motivated, a beautiful place and if we are lucky, a cream tea too.
We both take cameras, and where Selena captures images to paint, I capture images to refine my skills and create beautiful things that I may not always have the time to do otherwise. Although with many of the venues we visit being National Trust places I can't sell my images. Until now, they have been sitting on my computer, which seems such a shame.
This blog shows you how a day out can lead to all sorts of inspiration. And with so many images I've done a mini AV for you, so please sit back, relax and enjoy the images that keep me, and Selena, inspired.
This was a visit to Castle Combe, where we had a little cream tea in the tearoom (you'll see the pictures in the AV) but we also visited the church, which had some beautiful details in it, and some lovely stained glass windows. We explored the whole village, before heading to Lavington and an open garden day that was showcasing some stunning sculptures and garden art. I've shared my favourites, but there was much more.
So, I hope these leave you inspired. Did you have a favourite image? And are you now wanting to go and visit Castle Combe??
The next time you go somewhere, why not take your camera too and perhaps capture more than the obvious. Please let me know where you end up - and if they had a good cream tea!
