I am truly truly lucky, to be able to do the job I love most in the world, and better yet, to create something precious for clients who are first and foremost, friends.
Fiona and I met at the school gates, her oldest daughter and my youngest son were in the same class. Occasionally you can meet people who you have known for a very short amount of physical time, but in reality there is the feeling as if it has been all our lives.
Over the two years since we met she has seen my work evolve and change, and many was the time where she said she "really must book a shoot for the family" Well knock me over, if we didn't finally get around to it last month.
It started off really quietly, and completely professionally...
That lasted for about five whole minutes, it seemed the girls had other ideas!
I figured that to gain some sort of control I should split them up, in the process I managed to get some timeless images of the girls that I know mum and dad are going to cherish.
And better yet, a photo of mum and dad that the girls will value in the years ahead.
The serious stuff didn't last too long...
So I took the hint, it was time to head outside for some action images; a great opportunity for the girls to burn off some energy. Bring on the fun stuff
So, a small sample from one of my favourite shoots. a fabulous family, a great venue and really just a pretty amazing day all round.
HUGE thanks to Fi and her family for finally booking me. Now I just have to wait while she picks her favourite images... :)
